Policies to be changed- *see attachment (#5)
Discussion and clarification on said policies
Vote taken and passed.
*Bill Waggener reported that this would give the "Body" opportunity to participate.
*Bill Patrick stated that putting this off had been an ongoing and repeated problem. By having this in place would make it clear for any potentially new pastor to know what our policies are.
Motion made, voted upon and passed.

Fellowship Ministry Team Report (Hostess Committee)
Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006
Irma Woodrow
We want to say "thank you" again to the SS class rooms for bringing the food. Thanks to Guilford for giving us a good reason to get together and fellowship.
We especially need to thank the "youth on mission" and their leaders for helping us arrange the tables and serve. We could have never done this without this group and their help. We had approximately 70+ on Sunday. We didn't have time to count but we had seating capacity for 80 and we had some empty spaces but then the kitchen help never did sit down, we all ate in the kitchen.
Two weeks ago Judy prepared an insert for the bulletin with a schedule through December. If you need more information call the office or see one of the Fellowship Ministry Team members.
We will be helping with the "chili cook off" Friday, Oct. 27th. The men will be competing to see who can make the best chili.
We will have a "Sunday Brunch" November 12 immediately after the morning service. We encourage all the church members to invite their family members and friends to come and be part of this. We might try to out do the Waggener's.
How many members did you guys have here Sunday?
Respectfully submitted
Irma Woodrow for the Fellowship Ministry Team
Acts 2:42
They devoted themselves to the Apostle's teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayer.

Burgin Baptist Trustee Meeting Minutes
Meeting Date 10/1/06
Members present:
Jane Williams, Sharon Jones, Ernie Vaught, Lisa Waggener, Mary Barlow, and Harvey Voris
Not present:
Eric Peavler and Tony Hatfield
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jane Williams. The meeting was started with an inspection visit of the Parsonage. Each member was to make notes and compare with others at the next scheduled meeting.
Jane submitted a bill that was over $1000 for three new sump pumps for the basement which was previously approved by the deacons at the regularly scheduled deacons meeting.
Sharon Jones presented a repair bill for over $600 that basically depleted the budgeted amount of the van for the year. Items repaired on the van were a recall (no price), passenger side mirror that was damaged while in use, and a fuel line leak that poured gas out over the exhaust when the van was more than half full.
At that time, Jane made copies of the BBC Operating Budget for all members of the committee.
Also noted on the van repair bill were suggestions for a detail; 4 new tires, a fuel filter change and transmission fluid.
Harvey Voris was to check on getting prices besides Stuart Powell for service.
Rules need to be set for the usage of the van. Who holds keys; no smoking allowed in the van; travel limits, etc.
Jane gave all members present a copy of the custodians job description and wanted to make sure it was still relevant or if changes needed to be made. It was to be reviewed and discussed at the next Trustee Meeting.
Members discussed Master Keys for the Church and who should have them as the church is being re-keyed with new master keys where no duplicates can be made.
All members agreed to donate any toys, etc. that were salvageable from the flood to YMCA in Harrodsburg. Mary to handle the details of that.
It was decided to work again on Wednesday night 10/4/06 at 5:30 p.m. to clean up the rest of the trash, etc. left from the flooded basement.
Lisa volunteered to give the Trustee report at the monthly budget meeting as Jane would be out of town.
Respectfully submitted by Sharon Jones

BURGIN BAPTIST CHURCH
WMU & YOM REPORT
October 2006
First, Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) in Burgin Baptist Church has started a new group for youth called Youth on Mission. We meet on Wednesday nights at 7 pm. During the month, we schedule Bible studies, mission projects, and fun activities. We currently have 21 youth enrolled with an average attendance of 12 students. Hank and Debbie Webb and Steve and Melinda Kestler are teaching the class. The youth have chosen the name "XLR8 to Live the Call" to emphasize our plan to live God’s call in our daily lives. We’ve spent time working on projects for the church, doing ministry in the community, and raising money for the Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children so far. For October, part of our mission project is to host a fall festival to reach those in the community on October 27.
Secondly, we will consider all members in Burgin Baptist over the age of 18 a part of another WMU ministry called Adults on Mission. So much of what we do in this church is a ministry in one way or another. Whether it is in the form of passing out water bottles to the community for Burgin Days in September, taking up offerings for Eliza Broadus in September, or holding a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving in November, we are all taking part in helping others and being on mission. Most members of the church already regularly come together to lend a hand whenever we do these projects. We need to realize how we are unified as a church body when we help in these services. Adults on Mission is a way for us to do that and also to encourage us to remember to be missions-minded in our walk with Christ. I would like to see a husband and wife team help lead this group, but anyone can do it. It would mainly entail keeping the church abreast of mission opportunities and helping to organize the efforts. It would be nice to have a monthly or bi-monthly meeting as well. If this interests you, please see me later.
For now, Rachel Fraley has begun organizing a community closet for those families in need. We are collecting clothing for families to be able to "shop for" when they need something. We would also like to request help on the fall festival and for a Thanksgiving soup kitchen. Once again, please see me later if you would like to serve in these areas.
Please keep all our WMU projects in prayer, and thank you for all your support!
Blessings,
Debbie Webb

BURGIN BAPTIST CHURCH
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL REPORT
2006
For the first time, we devoted two entire weeks to Vacation Bible School (VBS) ministries! We held our regular VBS during June 4-8. We held a special VBS for our SPAN and special needs friends during June 11-15. Both VBSes used Lifeway’s Arctic Edge theme and curriculum.
For our first week of children’s VBS, we had a total enrollment of 180 with 69 being workers and 111 being learners. The average attendance was 143. There were 88 with perfect attendance.
For our second week of special needs’ VBS, we had a total enrollment of 40 with 27 being workers and 13 being learners. The average attendance was approximately 29. There were 15 with perfect attendance.
The offering from the children’s VBS came to $258.36. This was sent to Manna House in Harlan County, Kentucky, to help fund much needed supplies for their ministry.
I would like to thank all who served both Vacation Bible Schools this year!
Blessings,
Debbie Webb
VBS Director
